 ಲೇಖಕರಿಗೂ ಮುಳುವಾಗಲಿದೆಯೇ ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ದಿಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಯಂಬುದ್ದಿ? ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗಿನ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆರ್ಟಿಫಿಷಿಯಲ್ ಇಂಟೆಲಿಜೆನ್ಸ್ ತನ್ನ ಛಾಪನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಅಚ್ಚರಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದಂತೆ ಆತಂಕಕ್ಕೂ ಎಡೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ದಿಮತ್ತೆಯು ಮುಂದುವರೆದು ತನ್ನಿಂದ ತಾನೇ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ  ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಷಮತೆ ಗಳಿಸುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನಿಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಸ್ವಯಂಬುದ್ಧಿ’ ಎಂದು ಟಂಕಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಇದೇ ಪದವು ಮುಂದೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಬಹುದು. ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆಯ ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನದ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವುದಾದರೆ ಜಾನ್ ಮೆಕಾರ್ಥಿ ಎನ್ನುವ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ 1955 ರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವರಣೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ  “ಯಂತ್ರಗಳು ಮನುಷ್ಯನಂತೆ ಆಲೋಚಿಸುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದರು.
